Darryl Terry found his after a lifetime shaped by discipline, danger, and deep curiosity about the universe.
A former soldier in the South African Army, Darryl spent most of his life in operational areas, later working on military procedures, doctrines, and logistics. But beneath the uniform lived a storyteller — one fascinated by science, metaphysics, and the unseen forces that shape reality. After retiring from active service, that fascination found its true voice in fiction.
Today, he lives on a plot of land in the African Bushveld, north of Pretoria, surrounded by his cats, two wild owls, and a wild raven. It’s there, in the quiet between nature and memory, that his worlds continue to expand.

Darryl has always been drawn to complex systems, from military strategy to chess, from science to the metaphysical. While serving in the army, he wrote official military documents, but in private he explored storytelling through short fiction. After retirement, he began writing full-length novels, building a universe that blends science fiction, gothic romance, philosophy, and dystopian realism.
His work explores not only the emotions of larger-than-life characters, but also the role of humanity in the greater structure of reality, and how love, memory, and destiny shape our experience of it.

At its heart, The Pyramids of Eternity tells the story of:
John Gerson, a lonely and cynical IT genius working for a powerful global corporation with a secret quantum computer capable of recreating global markets and virtual realities.
In his personal escape from a broken life, John builds a simulated ancient Egyptian world. But when he begins receiving strange messages from within it — and encounters Alina, an Egyptian priestess who seems far too real — the boundaries between illusion and reality begin to fracture.
As love forms across universes, darker forces move in to exploit his creation.
It becomes a story not just about technology…but about love, identity, destiny, and the terrifying possibility that reality itself is far more fragile than we realize.

Darryl describes his writing as an attempt to explore “how the ultimate nature of reality impacts all of our lives.”
He weaves quantum theory, multiverses, ancient mythology, and deeply human emotion into his narratives, creating stories that are as philosophical as they are romantic.
“My hope is that I have created a sense of romantic wonder parallel to this reality,” he shares, “against a backdrop of a dystopian world that is not a very pleasant place for most of the people who live in it.”
