Featured Author: Lilse Asalt

Today in Hidden Voices, we spotlight Lilse Asalt — a fantasy and romance author whose stories blend haunting atmosphere, fierce emotion, and heroines who take up the space they deserve in worlds that were not built for them.

Lilse is a member of Codex, the Indian Writers Association, and the Horror Writers Association. Her published works include Dead End Florals and CEO of My Heart, and she is currently working on her debut Amazon series.

Through her writing, she offers what she once searched for but rarely found: female protagonists who fight, break, rise, and reclaim power in realms where magic lives alongside darkness.

 When the City Sleeps

Horror Fantasy

With each fallen petal, I ask the fates, “did he ever love me?”

In Nilport, magic is unrestricted and revenge has no moral limits.

Saved from death by forbidden magic, Subin returns not as the woman she once was, but as something both tragic and terrifying: a vessel of vengeance. She has only seven borrowed days to uncover the truth behind her murder, face the lover who let her die, and decide whether the truth is worth the cost of her second life.

Haunting and elegiac, When the City Sleeps explores betrayal, power, and the echoing terror of unfinished love.

🌟 Inspiration

Lilse’s creative journey began with a simple question:

Why are powerful, complex female protagonists still so rare in fantasy worlds?
