Inspiration & Writing Journey

Super Fruit was born out of a practical need. While preparing to teach a fourteen-week Bible institute course, Randy searched for resources that faithfully and clearly addressed the “Fruit of the Spirit.” What he found were either titles that incorrectly emphasized “fruits” in the plural, or academic theology textbooks that didn’t connect with everyday church life.

As he developed his own teaching material, something deeper began to take shape. The lessons grew beyond classroom notes into a guide designed to help believers understand spiritual growth in accessible, biblical terms. The book became a natural outflow of pastoral care, written not just to inform, but to equip.

Randy’s broader writing journey flows directly from ministry. Through preaching, teaching, and speaking at churches, retreats, family camps, and conferences, he has consistently focused on strengthening believers in their daily walk. His writing reflects that same heart: clear, Scripture-centered, and rooted in helping readers move from knowledge to transformation.

About the Book

Super Fruit: Your Guide to Spiritual Fitness offers an in-depth look at the nine characteristics of the single Fruit of the Spirit, which begins as a small seed planted in every believer at salvation.

As the Holy Spirit works within the life of the believer, that fruit grows. When a Christian submits to the Spirit’s control, their relationship with God deepens. Inward transformation begins to take place, shaping the believer more and more into the character of Jesus. That inward growth then produces outward evidence, strengthened relationships, visible Christlike character, and spiritual maturity that impacts others.

This is not merely a study of traits, but a guide to spiritual formation, rooted in Scripture and lived out in daily life.

Excerpt

What is fruit? Fruit is a by-product of a living entity, providing a way to reproduce and multiply. That living entity bears fruit naturally, meaning it grows as a normal occurrence, as part of the life cycle. All of life begins with a single seed.
A single seed is planted by God the Father within every person who believes on the Lord Jesus Christ with the purpose of growing into the image of Jesus. God’s planted seed will bear the fruit of the Spirit (Jesus). As an apple is the outward sign of being the fruit of an apple tree, the outward sign of growing the fruit of the Spirit is bearing the image of Jesus. The inward growth produces outward fruit.
